ReConnect Scotland – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

ReConnect Scotland offers two branches of work:

  • Therapy Hub – individual and couples therapy, provided by qualified, self-employed counsellors.

  • Community Hub – creative workshops, discussion spaces, and community gatherings focused on wellbeing and connection.

By booking a therapy session or community event, you agree to the terms below.

2. Confidentiality & Boundaries

Therapy Sessions:
All therapy sessions are confidential and conducted in accordance with professional ethical standards (e.g. BACP or NCPS codes of practice). Information shared in therapy will not be disclosed outside the sessions except:

  • During professional supervision, where confidentiality is also protected.

  • When there is serious risk of harm to you or someone else.

  • When required by law (e.g. safeguarding or court orders).

Where possible, such disclosures will be discussed with you in advance. Your counsellor may also share limited information with ReConnect Scotland for administrative purposes (e.g. scheduling, payment), but never the content of your sessions.

Community Workshops and Events:
Community activities are not therapy and do not create a therapeutic relationship. Participants are invited to share only what feels comfortable and to respect others’ privacy. We ask all participants to treat what is shared as confidential and to refrain from discussing others’ experiences outside of the session.

3. Session Length and Attendance

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
Therapy is most effective when attended regularly; you and your therapist may agree together on the most appropriate frequency.

4. Booking and Payment

All therapy sessions and community events must be booked in advance.

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or no later than 48 hours before the session or event.

  • If payment is not received within this timeframe, the booking may be released.

  • Refunds are not guaranteed for late cancellations or missed sessions, though exceptions may be made in cases of emergency.

5. Cancellation Policy

Both therapy sessions and community events require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed sessions/events, will incur the full fee.

6. Contact Between Sessions

To maintain healthy therapeutic boundaries, communication outside sessions is limited to administrative matters such as scheduling or payment.
Therapeutic issues should be discussed during sessions.

If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please contact your GP, NHS 24 (111), Samaritans (116 123), or Breathing Space (0800 83 85 87).

7. Conduct and Safety

ReConnect Scotland aims to foster a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment.
We ask all clients and participants to treat others with kindness and respect.
ReConnect Scotland reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services in cases of inappropriate, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour.

8. Liability

Therapy Hub:
While every effort is made to provide a safe and supportive environment, therapy is a collaborative process. ReConnect Scotland and its counsellors cannot guarantee specific outcomes, nor accept liability for emotional distress arising naturally from therapeutic exploration.

Community Hub:
Participants take part in workshops and community activities at their own risk. ReConnect Scotland cannot be held liable for personal injury, loss, or damage, except where caused by negligence.

9. Accessibility

Our main space is located on the first floor and is accessible via one flight of stairs.
Unfortunately, there is no lift access at this time.
We are committed to improving accessibility and exploring future ground-floor options.
If you have specific needs, please contact us before booking so we can discuss how best to support your participation.

10. Ending or Changing Services

Therapy clients are encouraged to allow one or two sessions for a planned ending.
ReConnect Scotland reserves the right to alter or cancel community events; where this occurs, participants will be offered a refund or transfer.

11. Age and Consent

By attending therapy, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over, or attending with parental/guardian consent if under 16.
Clients must be able to provide informed consent to participate in therapy.

12. Data Protection

ReConnect Scotland complies with the UK GDPR and is registered with the ICO.
We collect and store only the information required to provide our services and do not share data with third parties without consent.
You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
